My furniture is full of curves and lines that make it feel like a sculpture. I try to tread lightly and leave the planet in a better place than I found it. Most of my timber is local, mainly from windblown trees that I mill and dry myself.

Spring Fling - and generally springing around everywhere!

Back from my brief forays south to British Silver Week and to a Game Fair, I'm now deep in preparation for other events. Do try and catch up with me at one (or more!) of these. Today, I'm confirming the passage to the USA for 'Throne' and 'Chestless' both of which are going to the NAGA Gallery in Boston for "Furniture with Soul II", headed up by David Savage, who is then undertaking a lecture tour in the States promoting his book, and those of us included within it. www.gallerynaga.com

Spring Fling next - my favourite local event - where artists and craftspeople open their workshops and studios over the late Bank Holiday weekend. There's lots going on all around the region, and my own workshop has space for information on the local 'Making the Moorlands' project, with which I work closely in that elusive thing called 'spare time'. www.spring-fling.co.uk

Then it's back down to London - to Somerset House no less! - at the end of June (26th - 29th). I'm really excited about this one - having been invited to join with the very top British jewellers and silversmiths at The Goldsmiths' Company Pavilion. Only a few award winning furniture makers have been included - and I'm thrilled to be one of them.

More to follow - best get on with the dreaded paperwork for all of the above, and more importantly prepare the furniture that is to go on show. (by the way, the furniture is not really just for show - it would be nice to sell some - to good homes and offices only mind you!)
Hope to see you soon.D
